Many UV-C disinfectors aren’t certified at all. And of those that are, most are not up to the job because only pass a basic test under lab conditions where a tiny patch is tested right up close to the LED. But that’s not real life as this only disinfects a tiny patch at the top of your object. The parts that are further away are hardly exposed. UL and SGS Laboratories tested our LEDs at distances that reflect how you will actually use it. To guarantee abundant UV-C radiation even at the bottom of Bast UV™, we increased the power output of our LEDs to be 5-10 times stronger than most sterilizers – so we can be sure we’re killing the nasties first time, every time. No matter what you put inside.

360˚ DISINFECTION

To be sterilised, a surface needs to be directly exposed to UV-C light. With Blast UV™, your item sits suspended on a transparent surface, so you don’t need to flip it over. Most mirror finish surfaces actually absorb a lot of the UV-C light. But our Porex Virtek® lining reflects more than 80% of the UV-C light emitted, intensifying the UV-C Dose. It also has a 360° Lambertian reflective effect. It means UV-C light is scattered in all directions, sterilizing every surface. The UL-F2 certified Porex Virtek® is one of few high-tech materials that insures no harmful UV-C light can escape.

We’ve added thermochromic dots to the outside of the box. Each dot relates to one UV-C LED and turns red to show they’re working, so you know the job is done.

UV-C light is invisible to the human eye so if your disinfector doesn’t have this, there’s no way of knowing if it’s working or not. (Don’t be fooled by the blue light on other sterilizers. It’s not UV-C light, so it’s not doing any sterilizing!).
